The Man above is my Grandfather Ferdinando Cardella Born in San Procopio, Italy Reggio Calabria1881-1936. I never knew him, as he died prior to my birth. He and his family immigrated ti the USA in 1913. He was a General ( we believe ) in the Italian Army. When the war ended he was concerned about his life and his families safety, thus the immigration. He moved to Canandaigua, NY where he owned a grocery store. He had a sister Stella Marafioti who lived in Canandaigua, NY, and a sister Mariantonia (Cardella) Posterino that stayed in Italy.

Pasquale F. Cardella. He is my father and was born in San Procoppio, Italy on June 13 1911 and died on November 4 , 2013 at age 102. He worked at Eastman Kodak co. and had his own Real Estate firm. He loved sports and was a Yankee fan. Pat wrote many sports articles int the locals paper "the messenger". His life was devoted to work and being successful. Among his generous gifts was his gift of time to the local Kiwanis and his position at the Commodore ate Bay Islands in St. Petersburg, Fl. He was healthy right up to his death.

Lawrence F. Cardella (click picture for larger Lawrence F. Cardella August 23, 1912 - November 23, 2004. Larry was born In San Procopio, Italy and was about 1 or 1 1/2 when he immigrated with the family. Larry had several jobs, including driving the produce trunk for my grandfather's store. He had many friends and his picture hangs on the wall of ( my cousin's) TJ's Barber shop, located on Phoenix street in Canandaigua, NY. Stop in and he will how you the photo taken about 1944.size)

Lena (Cardella) Marafioti Born February 23, 1914 and passed away at her home on June 19, 2010 at the age of 96. ~ .Lena is the third child in this family. She was born in Canandaigua, NY.~ Lena was employed by Roper Knit,Corset Factory and was also a waitress at the Canandaigua Hotel. She married Joseph Marafioti and lived on Chapin Street. She had 2 daughters...Stella (Marafioti) Mundy and June (Marafioti) Lincoln. She loved her race track and a good glass of home made wine. Joe ( her husband) was an expert wine maker. She is buried in Calvary Cemetery. She had two beloved cats.....Snoopy and Spotty. She was predeceased by her Daughter Stella Mundy.Lena is survived by a daughter June Lincoln Grandchildren; Gina Lincoln, T.J. Lincoln, Cathy Williams, Shelly Peno. Great grandchildren; Ashley Peno, Jadon Williams.

Stella Mary (Cardella) Sandy Canandaigua- Stella Cardella, 91, passed away August 10, 2015 at her home. She had spend the day visiting with her brothers Fred and Dominic and Sister Gloria at their home on Niagara Street. A loving mother and sister she is survived by son, Mark Sandy, of Canandaigua; daughter, Brenda Sandy (Ken Backus), of Farmington; brothers, Dominic Cardella, of Canandaigua, Fred Cardella, of FL; sister, Gloria Barons, of Rochester and many nieces and nephews. Stella was a hard worker who liked to garden, she enjoyed country music, and never asked for anything, but gave all she had.

Dominic Cardella ...... Dominic is a real gentleman and worked at the VA after he returned from service in WW II. He was born in April of 1922. He enjoys family and sports. Dominic is one of the nicest men that i have ever met. He loved to spend time on a store step on Main street and talk with his many friends and relatives. He knew everyone and everyone knew him.

Celestine Virginia (Cardella) DelRegno 1929- 1991 Aunt Celestine was 62 years old when she died. He lived off of Norton Street in Rochester and looked forward to seeing her family as they would visit.

Antionette (Cardella) Belvey

Christine F. (Cardella) Nikulich Born on June 22, 1920 in Canandaguia, NY and died on June 1, 2001 at the age of 80. She had two children Harry Nikulich (wife Susan) and Daughter Gloria (Nikulich) West (Husband Carl) of Virginia. Aunt Christine was a lovely woman and I never heard her say a bad word about anyone. She enjoyed her family and especially trips to Canandaigua to see the family. Her husband, Harry Jr., died at age 54 on August 1, 1973 after a heart attack. (Photo to follow)

Frederick J. Cardella. Fred was a Navy man that settled in Salem Mass. where he opened a corner grocery called Walyo's ....which meant "little boy" in Italian. He married Dorothe and had three children, Dorothy, Michael and Patricia (tricia). He was an avid runner and ran many marathons and 5K races and loved his store. He played baseball into his late 80's but still stayed with the team "Kids and Cubs" in St. Petersburg. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children, grand children and great grand children.

Frank Cardella Son of Vincenza & Fred Born 1925 died 1934

Gloria Cardella Barons is the youngest child of the 12 children. Gloria worked at Kodak for several years and then had volunteered at the Hospital for over 30 years. She traveled from her home in Canandaigua to Kodak on Elmgrove Road one Gates. It was at Kodak that she met her (predeceased) husband Mert Barons. She is a great lady and loves QVC, her animals, surfing the internet and having family visit. At 87 she still goes to Canandaigua to cook every Sunday. She enjoys church and her social outings with the girls.

Eutichio Cardella was born in 1925 and died in 1934. He is buried in Canandaigua at the Calvary Cemetary.
